MALABON SPORTS STADIUM CONSTRUCTION ON ITS WAY

TheMalabon Sports Complex at Barangay Hulong Duhat broke ground on March 14, 2019 signaling its realization as a multi-event athletic site.

Steered by Mayor Antolin A. Oreta III, the well-attended ceremony unraveled to public the design for the 7,226 square meter sport stadium featuring a five-lane track and field oval, basketball and lawn tennis courts and a children’s playground.

With more than 1,000 spectator capacity, a dugout under the bleachers will be constructed aside the oval while ample public toilets and a 24-vehicle parking area are meant to comfort visiting enthusiasts.

The facility also dubbed Palaruan ng Pamilyang Malabonian will be one of its kind in the district set to be completed within a year’s work.

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)undersecretary and a former Malabon vice mayor Mark Allan Jay Yambao graced the event along with former congresswoman Jaye Lacson-Noel and Pamilyang Malabonian Councilors Bernard “Ninong”Dela Cruz, Jose Lorenzo Oreta, Sonia Lim, Edwin Lacson Dimagiba, Peng Mañalac and ABC President Paulo Oreta.

Also celebrating along hundreds of constituents in the occasion were guests Jap Garcia, Leslie Yambao, Joey Sabaricos, Mark Roque, Jenny Loquez, Danilo Dumalaog and nearby village leaders.

City Engineer Ruth Senaida who will look over the construction proceedings along with local building and other concerned city officials witnessed the historical rites.

Mayor Oreta who pushed for the venture was glad that a government property is finally available to accommodate such a project.

The program culminated with the traditional burying of the time capsule bearing the facility’s design, and the unveiling of the project perspective.

“This is beneficial both for the betterment of our health conditions through sports, as well as family bonding of Malabonians and nearby constituents,” the mayor noted.(MALABON PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE)
